Kimberly Green, President of the Green Family Foundation to be recognized at the City of Miami 2014 Juneteenth Celebration

Kimberly GreenKimberly Green has been chosen by the City of Miami Model City Neighborhood Enhancement Team (N.E.T.) as one of their honorees for the City of Miami 13th annual Juneteenth Celebration. The City will recognize Ms. Green for her hard work, dedication and passion that she has exemplified with Miami Dade County and especially the Little Haiti community.

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration dating back to 1865, when word reached African Americans in Texas that slavery in the United States had been abolished. More than two years earlier, on New Year's Day 1863, President Abraham Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

The celebration will take place on Thursday, June 19th, 2014 with a reception at 6 pm followed by the award ceremony at 7:30 pm at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex 260 NE 59th Street, Miami, FL 33137
