Green Family Foundation Sponsors Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive College Student Aids Summit

Kimberly Green Joins KCA College in Welcoming 400 Student AIDS Activists and Partner Schools to Combat HIV/AIDS

Kimberly Green Keep a Child Alive (KCA) Co-Founder and Global Ambassador Alicia Keys and KCA Co-Founder and President Leigh Blake

New York, NY – November 19, 2008 - On November 15th, Green Family Foundation (GFF) (www.greenff.org) president Kimberly Green joined Keep a Child Alive (KCA) Co-Founder and Global Ambassador Alicia Keys and KCA Co-Founder and President Leigh Blake as they welcomed 400 student AIDS activists in the second annual KCA College Student AIDS Summit.  The presenting sponsor behind the event, GFF joined the student leaders of KCA College to continue the ongoing fight against the pandemic.

During the event, Green introduced Grammy-winning songwriter, philanthropist and keynote speaker Alicia Keys to the students and also participated in “The Stigma Factor,” a panel discussion on AIDS.  Joining Green on the panel moderated by KCA College Director Kate Otto were noted journalist Jimmie Briggs, Dr. Jeffrey Greene (NYU Medical School), Todd Murray (Hope’s Voice International) and Dr. Perry Halkitis (NYU Steinhardt) who discussed the societal challenges that arise in battling the AIDS disease.

"We are proud to serve as sponsors of this year's KCA Student AIDS Summit and to help support the incredible work that Alicia, Leigh and the entire team at KCA are doing to increase education and awareness of the AIDS pandemic," said GFF president Kimberly Green.  “These students are not only an inspiration but our hope for an AIDS-free future.  We are proud and honored to do everything we can to help spread this message, drive support and confront the AIDS issue head-on.”

“We are deeply appreciative to Kimberly Green and the Green Family Foundation for helping to make this year's 2008 Student AIDS Summit a huge success," said Leigh Blake.  "The Foundation, whose global vision aligns with our own, has been a great ally in our efforts to inspire students to become future leaders of the AIDS movement.”

The event also featured a live performance by Youth Expressions, a not-for-profit program funded by GFF that is committed to helping at-risk urban youth develop into self-assured, focused, productive and skilled adults.
